Your insurance is an agreement between you and your provider, and they decide how your benefits are applied. To ensure a smooth process with filing your claims, please provide us with complete and accurate information.
Do interns accept insurance?
Our interns offer affordable sliding-scale rates, making therapy more accessible for those seeking support. While interns don’t accept insurance directly, we can provide a superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.
Deciding between self-pay and seeking insurance reimbursement is a personal choice. Self-pay offers greater privacy and flexibility in your care, while using insurance might come with certain limitations, such as reduced confidentiality, treatment restrictions, and potential implications for future coverage.
If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill can help you seek reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand your mental health coverage, including any deductibles, session limits, and required approvals. Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:
What are my out-of-network benefits?
Can I use my out-of-network benefits to see a graduate therapist intern?
Do I have a deductible, and if so, what is the amount? Have I met it?
Are there limits on the number of sessions I can have per calendar year?
Do I need approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?
We're here to support you in navigating this process and making the best choice for your needs.
Counseling Questions
Are our counseling services right for you?
Do you offer therapy in-person and online?
Yes, we offer in-person and online options. In-person therapy takes place at our Spokane location, providing a warm, face-to-face connection with our empathetic therapists. It's an inviting space for self-exploration and personal growth.
For all Washington residents, online therapy is available via a secure, confidential telehealth platform. This option offers flexibility and accessibility, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your preferred location. Research supports the effectiveness of online therapy, making it as impactful as in-person sessions. Rest assured, your privacy is maintained through our secure online connection.
No matter your choice, we're committed to delivering compassionate and effective therapy to support your journey toward healing, personal growth, and well-being. We're thrilled to be a part of your path, whether in Spokane or online.
What is the format for therapy?
Counseling sessions are 50 minutes long and take place in-person or remotely at a mutually agreed upon weekly time. The weekly frequency of meetings is essential for building consistency, commitment, and a strong therapeutic relationship. Regular sessions provide optimal support and accountability as we work together to achieve your therapy goals.
During the initial sessions, our focus will be on getting to know you, your current circumstances, and your background. We will explore areas of strength and improvement, and together, we will identify what you would like to change and establish your therapy goals.
Subsequent sessions will center around making progress towards those goals. Depending on your needs, this may involve supportive counseling, between-session tasks and activities, assessments, and integrative therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and EMDR therapy.
Why should I consider working with a graduate therapist intern?
Our graduate interns receive close supervision from experienced, licensed therapists, ensuring your care is guided and monitored by multiple experts. This means you benefit from the collective wisdom and dedication of multiple therapists, enriching your therapy experience.
Therapist interns actively engage in academic environments, staying at the forefront of therapy theories and techniques. They collaborate with faculty, supervisors, and peers to deepen their understanding and refine their therapeutic skills. By choosing an intern, you access a therapist well-versed in the latest methods and committed to their effective application.
Interns are in the prime of their training, investing their energy and enthusiasm into providing you with top-notch therapy. They bring a fresh, burnout-free perspective to the field, driven and genuinely invested in helping you reach your therapeutic goals.
Our interns offer reduced or sliding-fee scale pricing, making therapy more affordable and accessible. If you're looking for expertise, commitment, and flexible pricing, working with one of our therapist interns is an excellent choice for your therapeutic journey. It not only benefits you but also supports the development of the next generation of therapists.
What are the benefits of working with an associate therapist?

Associate therapists are fully licensed professionals who are actively building their clinical experience while receiving supervision from seasoned experts. This means you benefit from their expertise, coupled with the guidance of experienced therapists, ensuring high-quality care tailored to your needs.
Associate therapists are well-versed in current therapy theories and techniques, thanks to their ongoing professional development. They bring a fresh perspective to the therapeutic process, employing the latest methods to help you navigate your challenges effectively.
Additionally, associate therapists accept insurance, making therapy more accessible while providing you with the opportunity to receive professional support.
