Getting Started

Taking the first step toward therapy is often the hardest part. We've tried to make everything after that as simple as possible.

How It Works

There are two ways to get started - choose whichever feels right for you.

Browse Our Therapists

Visit our Meet Our Therapists page to see who currently has openings. You can view each therapist's profile, availability, and approach, then request a consultation directly.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Reach out to us and we'll help point you in the right direction based on what you're looking for.

Either way, the next step is a consultation - a brief conversation between you and a therapist to explore whether it feels like a good fit for both of you. There's no commitment at this stage. You become a client only after you and your therapist both decide to move forward and your intake paperwork is complete.

Practical Details

  • Fees: Most LDC therapists charge $150 per session for private pay. Rates may vary by clinician — your therapist will confirm their fee when you connect. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.
  • Insurance: Many of our therapists accept insurance. Plans currently accepted at LDC may include:

Aetna, Ambetter, Anthem, Asuris Northwest Health, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, BlueCross and BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, Community Health Plan of Washington, ComPsych, Coordinated Care, First Choice Health, First Health, Healthcare Management Administrators, Kaiser (Out-of-Network), LifeWise, Medicaid, Meritain Health, Moda Health, Molina Healthcare, Premera Blue Cross, Providence, Regence, Uniform/UMP, and Wellpoint/Amerigroup.

Insurance acceptance varies by clinician. Please confirm with your therapist which plans they accept, and contact your insurer directly to understand your mental health benefits, including copays, deductibles, and any prior authorization requirements.

  • Prefer Not to Use Insurance? Private pay is always an option. Some clients choose to pay out of pocket for greater privacy and flexibility. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement.
  • Cancellations: We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. Consistent attendance is an important part of the therapeutic process — your therapist will talk with you about this when you begin working together.
  • Where We See Clients: In-person sessions are available at our Spokane locations. Telehealth is available to anyone in Washington State. Individual therapists may also see clients at additional locations — check each therapist's profile for details. Both in-person and telehealth are effective options — your therapist can help you figure out what makes the most sense for you.
  • Good Faith Estimate: If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right under federal law to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before beginning services. You may request one at any time. For more information, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
